The rehab of the former Uptown Snack Shop building continues at Broadway and Leland, with the outside brickwork finally getting a tune-up.
Beats the holes in the facade that were there for several years. We're still trying to figure out how they're going to fit 16 residential units and ground-floor retail in that small footprint.
Anything beats a hole in the wall, right?

My great dream is that the "artsy" community in Uptown (yes, they exist!) will put pressure on the rehabbers to take full advantage of that lovely curved window in the old Uptown Snack Shop space, rehab it as a retro-style coffee shop, and put a "Phillies Cigars 5 cents" sign above the front windows.
