Thumbs Up For Thai Uptown

A reader writes: "On Clean and Green Day, there were 50-60 volunteers cleaning up an empty lot in Truman Square. It was pretty intense work in the heat and humidity. The family who owns Thai Uptown [across from the Wilson el on Broadway] must have heard the music and commotion, because they showed up with a big cooler of soft drinks. When that was empty, they brought ice and water for everyone.

What an incredibly supportive and thoughtful gesture! They didn't know beforehand about the clean-up, but they were considerate enough to bring much-needed relief to the workers. I would appreciate it if you spread the word to your readers about their kindness. It would be nice if people repaid the community spirit of this mom-and-pop shop by thinking about Thai Uptown the next time they're deciding where to eat."

  1. I LOVE those people! They are so nice.

I find myself there once a week now even though I already used to go there all the time.
