"On Clean and Green Day, there were 50-60 volunteers cleaning up an empty lot in Truman Square. It was pretty intense work in the heat and humidity. The family who owns Thai Uptown [across from the Wilson el on Broadway] must have heard the music and commotion, because they showed up with a big cooler of soft drinks. When that was empty, they brought ice and water for everyone. What an incredibly supportive and thoughtful gesture! They didn't know beforehand about the clean-up, but they were considerate enough to bring much-needed relief to the workers. I would appreciate it if you spread the word to your readers about their kindness. It would be nice if people repaid the community spirit of this mom-and-pop shop by thinking about Thai Uptown the next time they're deciding where to eat."
Love Uptown Thai!
ReplyDeleteGreat eats!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those people! They are so nice.
ReplyDeleteI find myself there once a week now even though I already used to go there all the time.
