Early Voting For City Election Is Open Now

Early voting for city elections has come to the neighborhoods! From now through Monday, February 25th, you can vote at any early voting polling place in the city.

We're hearing it takes just a couple minutes to vote: the only offices on the ballot are Mayor, City Clerk, City Treasurer, and Alderman.

The list of all polling places is here. The ones closest to Uptown are
  • Truman College (1145 West Wilson)
  • Welles Park (2333 West Sunnyside)
  • Edgewater Branch Library (6000 North Broadway)
  • Merlo Branch Library (644 West Belmont).
For downtown workers, you can vote at the Loop Super Site (175 West Washington) or the Museum of Broadcast Communications (360 North State).

Early voting hours are:
  • Monday, February 11 - Saturday, February 16: 9am-5pm
  • Sunday, February 17: 10am-4pm
  • Monday, February 18 - Friday, February 22: 9am-7pm
  • Saturday, February 23: 9am-5pm
  • Sunday, February 24: 10am-4pm
  • Monday, February 25: 9am-5pm (seven sites, including Welles Park, will be open until 7pm)

But wait, there's more!
If you want to vote by mail, your request must be received by February 21st. Instructions are here.

If you aren't registered to vote, you can register and vote at the same time. Be sure to bring two forms of ID, one of which must show your current address.

If you want to go old school and vote on Election Day (Tuesday, February 26th), you must vote in your precinct. Polls will be open from 6am until 7pm. You can make sure you're registered here, and check your polling place too.

  1. I voted early so in case I die between now and election day I can take my terminal breath knowing that I did my part for Uptown.

I'm going to repost a portion of a comment I made the other day because it really seemed to annoy some Wozniak supporter. I'm all about being annoying. I'd also like to congratulate the Woz for the big contribution she just posted from the Chicago Teacher's Union for that last mailer that went out.

I hope they give her some more cash. Every dollar they use for her is a dollar that can't be used for their main squeeze Honest Toni Preckwinkle. It's too bad Toni and the Woz won't endorse each other. Then they've likely seen polling on each other's candidacies in the 46th Ward and why give people even more reasons not to vote for you.

    Here we go.

I posted this before, but it's never to late or early to repost and take another dig at one of the most annoying local candidates in recent memory.

The state campaign donation website shows The Wizard of Woz(WOW)living on the near south side as late as summer 2017 after her buddy Joravsky had written about her complaining about the Stewart School Marketing in the Reader.

Now let me add that she and her husband bought their condo on Sunnyside in September 2015. I had one of my realtor friends look it up. So those donations were both posted from other addresses after they bought their Uptown condo. Hmmm. Time to make up some wild conspiracy type stuff.

This is my theory regarding E WOW's run for alderman and I'm sticking to it until the illuminatti or the lollipop kids prove me wrong.

In April of 2015 Cappleman triumphed over Amy Crawford in the runoff by about 8 points. The political geniuses at Chicago Teacher's Union decided he was vulnerable and encouraged E WOW to move to the ward and run. Did they give a job to the former teacher who ran against Deb Mell and almost won? No, that would make too much sense. Should have run him this year against Mell.

E Wow was active in the union, blonde, young, attractive and had some minor celebrity for her work with Girl Talk etc. Nice contrast to older pasty guy Cappleman.

I refuse to hyperlink, but here's a link to that. https://www.girltalkchi.com/

Now did said political geniuses CTU realize that Crawford outspent Cappleman and had the advantage of being able to get the ABC(Anyone But Cappleman) voters and some more moderate folks impressed by her University of Chicago law school background? Methinks not. They just saw him as vulnerable and decided to run a standard issue left of center candidate against him with a teaching background and connections to some minor media types like Jorvasky and the defunct DNA Info reporters--who now run BlockClubChicago.

At this point I'm sure E Wow bought her condo in 2015, but I'm unsure when she moved in. Her donations to other campaigns make me think it was after that and perhaps as late or later than July 2017, but there could be a plausible explanation for that.

Perhaps she sent a check in with her old address on it and the Dowell campaign used that for disclosure purposes. Of course since the earlier donation was just before she bought the Uptown condo..........

    Nevermind---it's a rabbit hole.

What I do know is that E Wow is lazy and entitled and doesn't even bother showing up for many community events that she can't control. She'll show for the forums/debates because she has to, but has anyone seen her at a general community meeting not directly tied to her campaign?

Maybe, but I'm told not. I've had the misfortune of encountering her on the street, but never seen her at any general community meetings.

    That's all folks!

    1. Here's another bit from that same comment. I post because the Wozniak supporter suggested I lied about it.

I'm even more trustworthy than Honest Toni or Erika the Peripatetic.

My forthrightness even compares favorably to George Washington and the Cherry Tree and Donald Trump and well everything.

      Here's the quote:

Then amazingly she buys a condo RIGHT down the street from the former Stewart school. It's a miracle. Whooda thunkit? Then her buddy Joravsky writes a piece where she criticizes the loft marketing. It's almost as if folks at CTU encouraged her to move to Uptown and buy right near the former school too.

If you'd like me to continue typing I can because I have a great story that my wife can verify about E Wow's knowledge of Uptown.

The Wowster was out campaigning probably back in Sept or Oct and engaged my wife in a discussion. She asked where my wife lived and my wife named the sub neighborhood in Uptown--hint it ends in "Park", Could be Sheridan, Buena, Margate, Clarendon or I suppose even Challenger if we liked the train noise. Well E Wow
asked her where that ? Park neighborhood was.

      They were standing in it.

On the plus side there's only a fifty percent chance E Wow thinks Irving Park is an actual park or sub neighborhood in Uptown.
