T'oui Macaron & Patisserie Opens (and Is Delicious!)

It was a long time coming, but T'oui Macaron & Patisserie has opened at 5018 North Broadway, at Argyle Street. And it is a very tasty addition to Uptown!

Run by the owners of Ba Le, and housed in Ba Le's original location, the permits were first obtained more than four years ago. It opened about a month ago, and while the wait was long, the results are mouth-watering.

There are two display cases full of macarons ($2.25 each - buy five, get one free), in flavors like boysenberry, pistachio, green tea, passion fruit, and red velvet. Then there's another case full of pretty pastries (nearly too nice to eat!), including 20-layer crepe cake, coconut mousse cake, hazelnut puffs, and éclairs (varying prices, buy three, get one free).

They also carry some bakery goods (croissants), green tea, nine varieties of coffee drinks, and waffle yogurt bowls (huge!) with up to three toppings for $6.95.

The storefront is neat and minimalist, with indoor seating for about 15. Kids and adults will probably enjoy sitting in the oversized "pretty princess" chair for photo opportunities.

T'oui shares an outside patio with Ba Le, located between the two stores.

T'oui's summer hours are 11am-9pm Monday through Friday, and 10am-9pm on Saturday and Sunday. It is run by the same family that has operated Ba Le in Chicago since 1988.

We are delighted to finally welcome T'oui to Uptown.

  1. Will they be at Argyle Night? Whenever I've gone to Argyle Nights, I'm disappointed that MORE restaurants are not vendors.

  2. Even if they aren't, just walk two blocks west on Argyle and walk right into the store. They're open until 9pm, so you can stop by on your way home from the Night Market.
