Preparing Your Pet For Independence Day
Amateur fireworks have begun, as most of us trying to sleep at night have realized. Here are some tips for getting your animal friends through this week, which can be especially traumatic for them.
Leave them home on Independence Day. Please! July 5th is the busiest day for animal shelters, as they try to match terrified pets who have bolted away from celebrations with their owners.
If you do happen to find a lost pet, you can bring it to any vet to have it scanned for an identifying microchip. The Chicago Veterinary Emergency Center and Specialty Care is open 24 hours, located at 3123 North Clybourn.
