Mayor Emanuel's Community Conversation About Uptown

Prior to going over to the Uptown Theater on Friday for a very special announcement, Mayor Emanuel met with community members, Uptown Baptist Church congregation members, CAPS volunteers, the two police commanders of Uptown, City of Chicago department heads, Ald. Cappleman, and others for a light lunch and "fireside chat" about Uptown's economic development, maintaining affordable housing, and the community's future. The meeting took place at the church (1011 West Wilson), a building that dates back to 1900.

UBC's Associate Pastor Mark Jones was the host and opened with a prayer, and Interim President of Truman College Dr. Shawn Jackson asked the questions that the mayor responded to.

Thank to reader "Ann Onymous" for the description and photo of the event.
