A brand new Uptowner (welcome!) received the above notice in the mail today about a possible new restaurant opening in the old Blue Ocean space at Clark and Leland, next to Ch'ava.
Hard to know at this point what it will be, but the principal of Yadya Inc., the applicant, has the same name as a principal in a sushi/steak restaurant in the 'burbs. Might be the same person, might not, but that's all we've got at the moment. I wouldn't place any bets, but it's a possibility.
Blue Ocean has been closed for over a year and a half, so it would be nice to see another restaurant open there. FYI, this storefront is located in the 47th Ward, so if you have any comments or concerns, contact Ald. Pawar's office.
What's amazing is how the interior of the former Blue Ocean looks like it hasn't been touched since it closed much like the food store on Sheridan and Leland. Lat time I looked, it still had food on the shelves and in the refrigerators!
