Finally A Chance To Show Off Your Favorite Underwear

Oh, the Red Line.

Home to Santa Trains, station restorations, and on Sunday, the annual No Pants Subway Ride.

Don't be surprised, despite predicted temps in the 20s, to see folks riding the rails and waiting on the Red Line station platforms in their undies.  The pant-negative riders are meeting up at noon near Loyola, and taking the L until about 3pm.  "The starting location is 1210 W Arthur. Chicago, IL. It's right off the Loyola Red Line stop. It is on the roof of the parking garage which is in the same building as the CVS at the corner of Arthur and Sheridan. Everyone should meet at the meeting point at 12 PM. Be on time. Be early if you wanna."

For more info, see the Facebook page here.  The No Pants Subway Ride is observed in more than 70 cities worldwide, from Adelaide to Zurich.  Should make a L ride on a cold and snowy Sunday a little more interesting, that's for sure.

  1. Ok, how would this be any different from any other trip I take on the CTA?

I've always believed that pants were optional on the CTA--at least for me.

  2. Think of all of the pigeons that won't be able to participate in this year's event in light of the recent kidnappings.

  3. I posted some pics today of the no pants riders at the Lawrence EL stop on my blog, Chevanston.

    Always a fun event.
