It's back! Lawrence House's scaffolding is up again, for the third (or is the fourth?) time in just over a year.
With Lawrence House recently being turned over to the care of a receiver, which has hired security guards and is addressing problem tenants, and with a potential building sale rumored, we hope this means a good job will be done and it's the last time scaffolding is necessary. We can dream, can't we?
I don't think that little sale is happening.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a shame. Lawrence House will be a difficult project to whoever ultimately takes it on....
ReplyDeleteJust like to point out that is a wonderful family run pharmacy.
ReplyDeleteAlways willing to help the elderly with medication. They call police & don't tolerate "riff-raff" either. I hope they don't close.
I can see some stickers on that Stop Sign there, not good.....
ReplyDeleteThis may be the 3rd or 4th time for the scaffold, honestly I've lost track myself.
ReplyDeleteHowever the good news is its the 1st time the current mgt is doing it.
My guess is the former owners who shall remain nameless did a less then thorough job. The current mgt has a different relationship with the building so to speak. So maybe they will do it right this time......
There is nothing majical or mysterious about masonry repairs, do it right or why bother.
I went by there recently and it looks like the restaurant in the building is closed.
ReplyDeleteI never ate there, I would have rather caught the Andromeda strain.
It's funny, when you look at it and the surrounding neighborhood on Google Street view, you can see people loitering, just hunkered down and ready for the long day of doing nothing.
