Hotel Coming To Clark Street

According to Crains:  "Chicago-based McHugh Homes Inc. plans to spend about $4 million to build a four-story, 15-unit hotel in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. The new structure, 4872 N. Clark St., will be immediately north of Andersonville GuestHouse, 4866 N. Clark St., a 10-unit building McHugh converted from condos into a vacation rental property in 2009 after the housing market downturn.

McHugh partner David Krug said the firm will seek city permission to operate both structures as a 25-unit hotel. Demand for hotel rooms in the neighborhood is coming from people visiting relatives living nearby and hospitals close to the site, he said. “There just isn’t a lot of hotel stock in this area,” he said."

We are delighted to see a long-decrepit empty lot used for something that Uptown sorely lacks.  Good news!
