Rock The Dock

Who'd have thought a harbor restaurant would turn into a yoga garden? Or a concert venue? Check out what's going on at The Dock at Montrose Harbor this weekend:
  • If you're an early riser, start your weekend off with the the beach and the water.  Free Hatha Yoga Classes at The Dock at Montrose Beach, Saturdays 6am-7am, starting June 18th (classes will be cancelled if it's bad weather). Bring your own mat.  As The Dock describes it...."welcoming the sun, admiring the lake view, breathing in and out, connecting with ourselves, connecting with the universe..."  This is ongoing, every Saturday morning while weather permits.
  • Saturday afternoon, June 18th, Weekends with Whitney from the new Chicago NBC Nonstop channel will be doing a live taping at The Dock called "Welcome to Summer Beach Bash."  It will feature a performance by the Eli Young Band .  Not sure of the exact times, but it'll all take place between noon and 4pm.  You're invited and it's all free.
  • Stick around for The Dock's first live music show featuring The Ragtones. It starts at 6pm, and yup, it's free, too.

  1. This is a great restaurant, location and addition to our good restaurant-deprived community. One almost feels transported away from Chicago - perhaps to somewhere in Florida - when sitting on the deck here looking out on Lake Michigan and the beautiful skyline of Edgewater (which many of us do not often see from such a stunning angle).

The food and service were very good and friendly (the restaurant is dog-friendly too!). Now if we could just get a few more warm & sunny days!

  2. I live right across the street and had no idea such great things were happening here this summer! Can't wait to kick things off with some yoga and country music this weekend!
