"Downtown, Everything's Waiting For You..."

Well, perhaps Petula Clark didn't quite have this in mind when she sang about the joys of being Downtown:
"A Chicago police commander is being credited for his quick thinking when he saw a large group of teens leaving Water Tower Place mall on the Mag Mile and found that a 19-year-old member of the group had a loaded handgun, police said today.

The incident happened on Monday at about 6:45 p.m. on the 800 block of North Michigan Avenue, said Chicago Police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti.  Dimitri Stephen of the 4500 block of North Clarendon Avenue was charged with aggravated use of a weapon [and] unlawful use of a weapon on a public street, both felonies, Ursitti said."
Read the whole story in the Tribune.  Uptown... we're all about sharing.

  1. At first these kids were unpredictable, but they're still attacking the same places over and over.
It's only a matter of time before somebody comes up with a way to stop this nonsense.
