But ... the scaffolding! Seems like it's been up forever. We heard that it would be finally be taken down in June, then July. Now it's September, and it's still there. It's been literally years (since 2006?) since the sidewalks around the building have been well-lit and unobstructed.
We're eager to see the grand old residence in all its splendor, with no ugly, dangerous scaffolding to block the view and detract from its elegance.
When I walked by last week, it looked like they were cleaning the exterior terra cotta. That building is going to shine.

ReplyDeleteI went by again today and was wondering why the "clean" part looked flat, as compared with the "dirty". Paint would explain it, but that's so disappointing.
After living here for over a month I can tell you they will not be coming down anytime soon. The management will lie and say anything to create a good image and get more people to move in. We still do not have heat or air and the place was created in less than a week. The tube leaks water and they still have only one elevator working. Luxury apartments?? We will move out as soon as our lease is up.
