There may be parking spaces for Low Emission Vehicles and a high
LEED rating, but our oh-so-environmentally friendly Target ain't exactly green where shoppers can see. A reader writes: "Still disappointed in the lack of greenscaping along Broadway in front of Target. Seen yesterday afternoon, a dog patiently waiting for its owner...in the dirt."
Whats been going on in uptown ,I would never leave a dog by itself out there. They could have some green around the store, yes I agree on that.
ReplyDeleteBased upon the photo is appears that the area will become green. Perhaps we should reserve judgment on this until after the street-scaping project is complete and there has been an opportunity to add green elements without having them get destroyed by construction.
ReplyDeleteThat isn't Target's problem. That's Helen's "Streetscaping."
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, we can continue to blame her for at least a few more months.
Yep, the entire stretch looks unfinished. I don't know if that's a city thing, or a Helen thing, or a WY thing?
ReplyDeleteeasy everyone, they are working on it.
ReplyDeletehmmm, I don't think Target should be blamed for this. Parkway landscaping is the city's responsibility. We will probably see shrubberies after the concrete work is done.
ReplyDeleteisn't there a right time to plant trees? In the Fall?
ReplyDeleteEverything takes time but uaually they plant the greens in late fall or we will have to wait to next spring. No matter how long it takes broadyway will have never looked so good.
ReplyDeleteHey uptown residents...
ReplyDeleteWinter is coming. Nearly everything that would be planted now would most likely die in winter. Not to mention the construction that is still going on, it may not be the best idea to do the last step of a street renovation in the wrong season and wrong order.
Common sense people, use it.
You would think that if any of the new businesses who were were told had rented space on the ground floor plan to get into Wilson Yards before the holidays, that some of the build-out or interior construction would have started by now.
ReplyDeleteAnybody see if there are any permits in the windows? Where's the Subway? Where's the AT&T store?
Building on Toto's response.....where are all the new businesses on Broadway north of Montrose?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the flooring is still gravel at this point. I guess I'd rather see vacancies, instead of 'fish farms' or meth clinics any day.
I could care less about the landscaping. What I do hate is people who leave their dog tied up outside like this where they can be victimized. There are sick people in this world who think poisoning, beating or releasing this dog so it gets hit by a car is "fun."
ReplyDeleteIf you have shopping to do, leave your pet at home. They are living, breathing, feeling creatures that rely on you to keep them safe. It's pathetic anyone should even have to point this out. But given the way our society is today, I guess its to be expected.
