Uptown Solutions, From You

A reader sent us a great site he set up which asks the community for solutions to several "areas of improvement" like crime and business development. Once you submit an idea, other residents can agree or disagree with it. Many of you have shared great solutions in our comments but keeping them all in one place should be more helpful. We think the folks that should be open to the solutions will be taking notice but we can always forward them to the appropriate channels.

  1. It is not a bad ideal and I am willing to try anything when it comes to making my ward a better and safer place to live. I also think that putting ideas on paper is a lot different then getting them to do work from the appropriate channels that have done little or anything before.

  2. SORRY FOR THE CAPS..
ACCORDING TO THE CIVIL RIGHTS LAWS, THESE THUGS SEEM TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THEM. WHY CAN'T THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GET INVOLVED? I KNOW IT SOUNDS FAR FETCHED BUT THESE THUGS ARE BASICALLY TERRORISTS IN THE COMMUNITY. WHY CAN'T THE FEDS GET INVOLVED?

  3. Would love to hear what the Aldermanic Candidates are thinking on these issues. And more importantly, what they would do to address them.

  4. Aldmn Cands: When and where can we hear your plans for dealing with crime in Uptown? We invite you to Sunnyside Mall to present your actionable plan for violence in Uptown.

  5. It would be great to hear what the candidates have to say. But I think the point of this site is to also bring our ideas to the aldermen and other officials. We live in this neighborhood, many of us probably have good ideas for ways to address our crime problem, so we shouldn't wait for the candidates to come up with ideas - we should be proactive.
