Back To School Anti-Violence Event

Commissioned for the Community is hosting a back to school event call "Building Unity for Safer Communities" at Alternatives (4715 N Sheridan) on Saturday, August 28, 10am-2pm.

"We are planning to have community speaker, youth and adult entertainment. We will have community service organizations passing out information and letting parents know about the services they provide. Our goal is to create a united front with the parents, youth and community members to stop the violence in our community."

    Curious as to whether anyone here went to this and if they think it offers good answers to the problems of Uptown.
