"Just an FYI... Commander Boehmer called me this afternoon regarding the shooting at 4425 N Malden yesterday. She informed me that the investigation is open. We went over an email I sent her, and the fact that my getting the plate # and getting descriptions of the vehicle and its passengers was essential for them locating it. They were pulled over just shy of the Police Station at 3600 N Halsted.
The perps claim that someone broke out the back window with a "baseball bat." Comical. She did assure me that this is an ongoing investigation, and anyone who may have more information should call the station at (312) 744-4155."
Police and a cooperative community = gangbangers' nightmare.
please tell me the police did not know that the vehicle was used in the shooting when it was pulled over.
ReplyDeleteand when the vehicle plates etc. were reported to the police I hope it was after they got pulled over. if not then their technology needs an upgrade.
I would hope that having a shoot out in the middle of a street in Chicago can not be that easy to get away with.
I saw that vehicle driving around.
Well I will call the police station and drop off the shell casing if needed.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine the chances of the Escaladegetting pulled over without the police knowing that it was involved in a shooting.
I called the police around 3:30 on Friday because there were 12-15 guys hanging out on the benches at Sunnyside and Malden.
The issue is...unless the people in the Escalade were doing the shooting, I am not sure getting shot at is a crime.
ReplyDeleteBut - CLEARLY that car was involved in the shooting incident (witnesses, a broken window, a license plate, etc.) and would NOT cooperate with Law Enforcement. Therefore, that vehicle and its occupants are not welcome in my community if you ask me.
Since all we know in this case are the "Victims" (and I use that term VERY loosely without knowing the facts surrounding the shooting incident), we need to work with that information.
Anyone have any ideas here?
I would like to hear what the Commander has to say about that shell casing, as far as if they want them or not. I would think the gangbangers would not want to use the Escalade anymore.
ReplyDeleteThis same vehicle was also involved in the gunfire a few weeks ago on Clarendon and Wilson. Lakeview Towers has multiple security cameras that record. Hope the police have requested to view the video.
ReplyDeleteThe listed owner of the SUV, John H Williams, is 68 years old, according to public records. He was definitely not driving when the gangbangers in the vehicle were exchanging gunfire with the gangbangers at the scattered site housing on Malden on Thursday.
