Cranky, Cranky

Someone on Winthrop is very protective of the No Parking zones!

  1. What a great idea! The owner of the car gets the message and probably won't make the mistake again. Their punishment- clean the lipstick off their window. The owner also doesn't have to suffer the economic ramifications of their mistake and their cash stays out of the greedy hands of the city.

Maybe we will see those metermaids walking around with lipstick instead of ticket machines. One could only wish...

  2. I have an idea! Rather than waste a perfectly good tube of lipstick, why not place a call to 911 to report the violation. While it may not be an emergency, there's a good chance it will be ticketed if an officer is available. That tends to send a subtle message.

  3. For some reason, when I call 911 for a police response to these types of problem, the call is always dispatched to beat car 23-DO-NOT-DISTURB.

  5. I prefer the bright orange stickers that are a pain in the a$$ to be removed.

And Brian, was that your car!?! lol Sometimes it's not a big deal and other times it is. When cars illegally park on the corner of say Racine at Wilson, they make it near impossible to turn up Racine because of the narrow width. How about this, how about people park legally, like everyone else? Is that such a hard rule to follow?

  6. Brian, the parking restrictions are there because there's a curb cut there (that's being blocked by the red car). The curb cut is the only way that the garbage truck guys can roll out the dumpsters to empty them.

So, yeah, it is kind of a big deal when someone parks there during that three hour window. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone on the garbage truck - who couldn't do his job because of the illegally parked car - who left that little love note.
