Metered parking is going up in January, so throw a few extra quarters in the car so you don't get caught short.Uptown is scheduled to go from $1.00 to $1.25 an hour, with LAZ making citywide adjustments to the parking boxes between January 4th and 31st. Be sure to check the box for the proper rates during the transition.
We'll be running this again next year when the rates are raised again ... right before the aldermanic and mayoral elections.
Just think ..., now that Daley and Council (including those who couldn't be bothered to represent their constituents via a vote for/against the meter lease *cough*) have approved flushing the reserve from this deal to cover the budget short-comings (*cough*TIF abuse*cough*), nearly every cent you put into these meters will be going to a private (*cough*relative of Daley's*cough*) company ... not the city.
