Targeted Advertising

A reader sends in the following photo and writes:
"I noticed this Tribune advertisement on the Wilson L platform. It's pretty powerful and I can't help but notice it is placed at one of the most crime-ridden and downtrodden L stations...Wilson."

  1. Looks like it's part of a advertising campaign for the Trib.

  2. This ad is also at the Thorndale red line stop.

    ...on the north side.

Not to down play a thing. Its getting way out of hand around here and the gang and gun problem is significant.

But take the red line south or the green/blue lines southwest and every stop is Wilson.

  5. I was liking the "piece of art" until I saw the pathetic Chic Trib logo at the bottom....

    At least they're trying....

  6. I love how the Trib fancies itself a "Guardian of the City," since they pretty much ignore any e-mails I ever send to them about what's going on in the neighborhood (judging by the lack of Uptown coverage overall, they ignore everyone else's as well). Plus, their half-a$$ed "reason" for endorsing Shiller in 2007 clearly showed their complete lack of interest in the 46th ward.

To give credit where credit is due, I have enjoyed their "State of Corruption" series, and their coverage of postive loitering in the 46th, but it's still "too little too late" as far as I'm cocnerned.

  7. Here is a link to a large image of the ad. Feel free to print and post it in the neighborhood...

  9. Nice that a Toronto based ad agency put these together- not a Chicago as agency- hell not even an American!
