ABC News Returns To Uptown

A reader tells us that ABC News was at Sheridan and Leland tonight, filming an update to their story about our recent week of street violence and doing interviews. Kudos to them for following up! Update: The news crew apparently said they didn't know when the story would air. Possibly Monday, but definitely not Sunday.

    The news people don't like it when the Alderman won't return their call worse then us residents.

    It shouldn't be too hard to win against here in the next election.

    Fox32 mentioned today's shootings and touched on the Leland riot again although they were not reporting from uptown again.

    I just saw it on FOX news... Just got home and happened to turn on the TV. They reported on 3 men shot at Leland & Racine and said that it's only 3 blocks away from the brawl on Leland & Sheridan and showed the video!!! FINALLLLLY. Thank you to the videographer!

    A part of me wants to go to the protest to express my outrage and a part of me also knows that Ald. Shiller would use my presence as a way to be dismissive of the real reason for this event. No decision yet about what I'll do and it's a judgment call either way.

    My focus right now is getting this violence to stop as soon as possible. Like many of you though, I'm so angry at the violence. I will be at the Beat 2312 CAPS meeting. Richard and I are making fliers to pass out in the neighborhood about the CAPS meeting. We have to work together to create peace in this neighborhood.

    The FOX news segment also showed a rat running down that alley in broad daylight. I guess we should pick one battle at a time but I will be calling 311 for the rodent control people to come out again.
