Tour Uptown This Summer

Chicago Neighborhood Tours is including Uptown in its "Summertime Sampler" tours (three neighborhoods in one afternoon). The first tour, which takes place today, is sold out. But you can still book three remaining dates this summer: June 26, July 24, or August 21 (Fridays, 10am–1pm), $20. Read more about it here.

"There are multicultural and unexpected legacies on the Far North Side. A comprehensive walking tour of Uptown’s Hutchinson Street exposes the largest cache of George W. Maher-designed mansions in the U.S. Get the scoop on Uptown’s early days as a major entertainment district and its current attractions. Tap into German, Swedish and other cultures in the Lincoln Square and Andersonville neighborhoods during your own mini-explorations."

  1. I live just about 1 block from Hutchinson street and have walked it numerous times. Everytime I see something new. I wonder if the walking tour will go down the streets around Wilson and Broadway too to show all the great thinks our alderwomen has brought into our Uptown area.........

  2. I know that poster was designed many years ago...but check it out, is there not a resemblance between the ladies depicted here, and the way Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon look as "Josephine and Geraldine" in "Some Like It Hot?"
