I would like to ask a question and maybe someone can answer it. I live in my condo at clarendon and montrose on the 25th floor so I can see the wilson yard pretty good and they are building it fast. What can be done now that they are getting up so fast. I don`t like whats being built in Wilson yard but is it not too late to change anything or do anything now. I have donated twice and if anything can come out of the suit I would donate again. Many of you readers might have some thoughts..
The mix of housing would be a start. This area already has over 6,000 subsidized rental units. Some market rate condos and affordable homeownership would bring additional diversity to this area.
If the lawsuit is won in favor of FWY it could force Peter Holsten to return the TIF money and Wilson Yard to go back into planning stages; this time with lots more community involvement. FWY is asking the residents what, specifically, you would like to have in that building. PLEASE let them know what you want and be as specific as you can.
