Dover Street Historical Tour

We're hearing good reviews about the Dover Street Historical Walking Tour that took place on Saturday. An attendee and reader was good enough to share some of his photos of this lovely street, including one of the oldest home on Dover, which dates back to around 1897 (top). We thank John Holden for volunteering his time and knowledge to provide the tour. (Unfortunately, UU had to miss it due to work, so we hope and look forward to hearing about the next one.)

  2. I wish our whole area could be just Dover Street. It was like walking back into time. Its so peaceful and tranquil. I only wish its not taken over by the bad elements of our Uptown Streets....

  3. I only wish its not taken over by the bad elements of our Uptown Streets....Do you mean the evil condo owners? Cause we're all over Dover baby, causing trouble with our toddlers, walking our dogs and messing up the hood with flowers and landscaping.

  4. I went on the Alta Vista Terrace walking tour through the Chicago Architecture Foundation a couple years ago. It's right by the Sheradin stop and talk about a blast from the past. What a pretty and fascinating little block! I'll have to go check out Dover after hearing this now.
