"
Viet Bowl" and "
Hing Wang" Chinese on Wilson now have matching signs and awnings. If you haven't stopped in lately, the wall between the two restaurants has been removed and patrons are now able to order from both menus. Slowly, but surely, this stretch of Wilson is improving.
I stopped by and spoke to management yesterday. As part of their strategic business plan, they are renaming the combined stores in the spring. Coming soon!!!

Read the reviews though. Some are really informative. Others are drive-by reviews.
Viet Bowl is really good - lots of food for the money. The pho is great (I get vegetarian, my husband likes the spicy beef). We've also tried appetizers and some rice dishes which are great. We've taken friends and all have enjoyed. One thing I will say is service is slow but hopefully that changes as their experience grows.
ReplyDeleteI second your opinion of the Pho UptownMom. mmmmmmm, i want some now.
ReplyDeleteI have never had Pho. I will have to try it.
ReplyDeleteallow me Jason: get the beef with tendon (and if you have a strong stomach, add tripe a.k.a. intestines). add shoots (sp?) and greens to taste. Careful with the peppers! I love hot stuff so I load up the peppers but even my eyes are watering by the end of the bowl. it is a lot of food and I don't recommend bringing home leftovers as they may not reheat well so bring your appetite. :)
ReplyDeleteHing Wang has the BEST Beef Fried Rice anywhere! Huge pieces of delectable meat that rival any CHinese take out on the North Side. The new store is a great to eat as well(a huge change form across thestreet).
ReplyDeleteAlso, during slow times, ask the one of the owners (the man who is 1/2 vietnamese, 1/2 black) to play some music on his guitar. He woul be happy to give you a free mini concert!
