No Parking On Racine?

A reader writes in wondering:
"Temporary no parking signs have sprung up on Racine between Montrose and Sunnyside indicating that there is to be no parking between 1/14 - 2/28 on both sides of the street. I imagine it has something to do with the construction on the Truman College parking garage, however a call to the Alderman's office proved fruitless. Can you see if anyone has any idea what this is about, and where the heck is everyone who lives on Racine supposed to park for the next six weeks? Montrose has snow restrictions, so that pretty much leaves nowhere to park. I wonder if cars left parked on the 14th waiting for a thaw are going to get ticketed..."

  1. They're removing our parking privileges for six weeks and giving us two days notice beforehand?

    This is some serious bullshit!

Nice to know my yearly parking sticker is only good for 10 1/2 months.

  2. I also wonder where Ron Huberman is going to park his car...

  3. I guess Helen and the folks at Truman just forgot to mention anything. Oops.

The only thing more difficult than trying to remove one's head from the sand is trying to do so in Chicago winters.
