published a story a month or so ago about the building at Irving and Broadway being renovated. I have been watching it since I live behind it. They have just finished the new roof and are pouring concrete. New windows went in last week (though it looks like at least one was cracked on installation). Most interestingly, they were hanging a Dunkin’ Donuts sign today!"
I'll take a Dunkin Donuts over an empty dilapidated building any day! But Dollup is still the best place for coffee.
ReplyDeletemmmmmm...donuts...
ReplyDeleteDunkin Donuts + Foot Traffic = good for Uptown. Bring on the doughnuts!
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, went to El Mariachi (new location on Sheridan and Bdwy) the other night, and if you haven't been, really really good food (cocktails aren't bad either!)
I echo the comments with regard to the DD and El Mariachi. The new location is excellent with good atmosphere and food.
ReplyDeleteWith regard to the DD, I received word from the 46th Wards office on 10/27 that the building developer is looking to have the project finished in the next 60-90 days. No word on any other tenants except DD.
Will there be a Baskin-Robbins along with the Dunkin Donuts? Don't ALL the new DD outlets have ice cream as well?
ReplyDeleteI bet there will be gayle. Seems that is the practice nowadays when a new DD location is opened. I love BR's butter pecan!
ReplyDeletecelebrate good times come on! i love that a new retail establishment is coming to the hood. lets keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI'm partial to Jamoca Almond Fudge myself. That's the only reason I ever go into a DD establishment since their pastries give me indigestion.
ReplyDeletethey sealed off the dunkin donuts area today with a brand new door and took down the boards...lookin good
