It's been a really intensely emotional holiday weekend so far. So let's go to our Happy Place (which in this case is Montrose Harbor) and try to remember the good, positive and beautiful things about our community.
And take a moment of silence to remember where you were on the bright Sunday morning of August 31, 1997, when the world was reeling from the late-night headlines about the passing of Princess Di.
I think a lot of churches were extra-full that morning.
And tonight, remember to donate to the Jerry Lewis Telethon. However "retro-hip" and "campy" some may feel about it, the fact is that MDA is one of the more reputable charities and they have done a lot of good work over the decades.
