  1. Was Shiller at ANY of these events? If not, I hope someone starts a newsletter sharing with ALL the community that can be posted at various highrises, businesses, etc. that start to point out SPECIFIC instances where she is not attending to the community needs.

We cannot wait for 2011 to start sharing on a regular and vocal way how she is ignoring the community.

Particularly those that may not have access to Uptown Update, such as those in our community that are older or the where English is not their primary language...

  2. I was at Aster and it was fun. Lots and lots of kids, all enjoying the playground equipment and the sprinklers. Good food. I didn't see the alderman.

Who I did see were Joyce Dugan from Uptown United, Sandra Reed, James Cappleman, Commander Boehmer, Christie Hahn from Business Partners, Richard Thale, our Court Advocates liaison and CAPS beat coordinator, and Julie from Truman Square Neighbors. Pretty much a Who's Who of our neighborhood.

Except the alderman. Maybe she was there, but I sure didn't see her.

  3. Christie Hahn got um, shall we say "hazed" by our Uptown skeptics when she came on board at Business Partners. But attendance at the National Night Out and her statements at the legislators' meeting bode well for the future. After all, local business owners and local residents have so many common interests. I am looking forward positively. Thanks to all who continue to get involved in our community.
