The Shop Around is a neighborhood wide sidewalk sale. Local businesses will set up shop in front of their stores and offer specials and sales from 10am to 7pm.
The Family Fest is a free event in the parking lot at Lawrence & Winthrop (kitty-corner from the Aragon Ballroom) from 11am to 3pm. It will feature a petting zoo, jumping jacks, local arts and crafts vendors, performances, demonstrations, a safety fair and more!

Volunteers are needed for the Family Fest (see above) between 9am-4pm. Volunteer Shifts and Duties include:
Set Up
9am-11am - 4 people- Monitor Children's Activities
11am-1pm - 4 people needed
1pm-3pm - 4 people needed - Hand out Info in the Chamber Booth
11am-1pm - 2 people needed
1pm-3pm - 2 people needed - Breakdown/Clean Up
3pm-4pm - 4 people needed
This sounds great... I wish I could attend, I will be out of town. But this is a great example of the kind of positive events our community needs to do more of.
