Jillana Returns To Chase Park

The always-popular yoga instructor, Jillana, is returning to Chase Park for a spring session:

"Resident yogi Jillana is offering yoga classes once again at Chase Park this spring. Yoga will be offered to students 18 and over on Tuesdays from 6:05-7:10PM.

• Mats and all necessary props included.
• $55/session.
• Session runs April 2nd through June 4th

The yoga is vinyasa, so there will be lots of movement. The class is multi-level. No experience is necessary, and more advanced options will be provided for more advanced students. Students can contact Jillana to register at jillana@jillana.net."

Autumn Yoga With Jillana At Chase Park

Fridays 10-11AM in Chase Park Gym, Beginning September 10 and ending November 19th 2010

$55 for entire 10 week session.  No experience required. Mats provided. Wear comfortable clothing.  To register, contact jillana@jillana.net.  Registration should be completed by September 1.

Jillana Enteen has been practicing yoga since 1999 and teaching yoga, after completing her Hatha yoga training and yoga teacher intensives including Anasura Yoga intensives and Kids' yoga teacher training. Jillana believes that yoga should be an active workout, yet injury free. She is committed to inspiring and energizing her students, providing hands on alignment help and challenging, yet achievable yoga practices. Jillana asks each student to seek and respect their own personal edge, offering multi-level classes that engage both beginners and seasoned yogis. She has been teaching for the Chicago park district and for Chicago Public Schools since 2008.

Yoga With Jillana Starts Tonight

So many of our readers follow Jillana's yoga classes, which were originally held at Chase Park, that we are continuing to let you know about them, even though she no longer teaches in Uptown.  She says she may be moving back "south" to us soon.  Here's hoping!

"Hello friends! Now, freshly back from Thailand, I've waited until the very last minute to remind you of this winter's yoga spot and time: Schreiber Park, Tuesdays, from 6-7PM.

The address for the fieldhouse is 1552 W. Schreiber Ave. Chicago, IL 60626. It's just east of Devon and Clark, and you can park in the lot behind Devon Hardware. The fieldhouse is small--kind of like a shed. You can enter from the basketball courts or the playground. Schreiber Park is just north of Uptown. The Broadway bus, the Clark bus and the Loyola El make Schreiber very accessible (it's literally on Clark-a tiny bit north of Devon).

Due to popular request, class will take place on Tuesdays from 6-7PM. We'll start THIS TUESDAY, January 10 and meet each Tuesday but one, perhaps, until the end of March. That's 11 weeks and 10 yoga sessions.

As usual, I'll have everything you need: mats, blocks, straps, blankets. Please bring a bottle of water and wear comfortable clothes and prepare to take off your shoes!  Please email me to enroll: jillana@jillana.net.

Cost is only $50 for 10 classes, or $8 per class if you can't sign on for the lot--but please sign up for the series.  Also, please forward this to all your friends! Schreiber doesn't have the database Chase had, so this is going to be a word-of-mouth session once again.

August Yoga With Jillana

Jillana, who's instructed Uptowners in yoga at Chase Park for several years, is starting a mid-late-summer yoga class starting this Tuesday. Although it's not in Uptown, we're posting her announcement because this is where the majority of her students live.

"Schreiber Park has generously offered their pristine outdoor space at the lot of Schreiber playground park. The new field area (formerly a doggie park) hasn't been used by anyone since its renovation and fresh laid grass. We'll be the first feet on the lot! If it rains, though, we'll meet in the fieldhouse. The address for the fieldhouse is 1552 W. Schreiber Ave. Chicago, IL 60626. It's just east of Devon and Clark, and you can park in the lot for Devon Hardware. The field is one block east of the fieldhouse.

Class will take place on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:45pm. We can plan on the following dates (starting in less than a week): August 2, 9, 16, and 30. September 6 is an unconfirmed possibility as well, but I have to leave that open. Chase Park "Yoga With Jillana" To Return In April

"Hello friends! Good News! Yoga is set and good to go. This spring it will be Tuesdays--one class at 5PM and one at 6PM. It's the same set-up as last year. It starts April 5 and ends May 31. Jillana Winter Yoga Sessions Cancelled

Sad to say, Jillana's Winter Yoga sessions at Chase Park, which were scheduled to begin this week, have been cancelled for this season.  Yoga will offered again at Chase in early spring. 

Jillana writes that:  "Yoga with Jillana at Chase Park is temporarily cancelled and will be resumed in the near future, and your readers, because you all are so on top of things, will be the very first to know once things are straightened out!"

Summer Yoga With Jillana Begins Tonight At Chase Park

The always-popular yoga goddess Jillana writes:

"As I promised at the onset of summer, a mini-summer session begins this Tuesday.

We'll be meeting at Chase Park in the Dance room--which will make most locals very happy. We can move outside to near the garden if we so wish--on a nightly basis.

Time will be Tuesdays at 6:10-7:20 pm. The adorable ballerinas finish at 6pm.

Dates: July 23 and 30. Aug 6, 13, 20, 27. Sept 3, 10. We still have 8 weeks of summer session together! $55 for the session.

Fall session begins Sept 17 and ends Dec 3.

Yoga With Jillana -- Fall Session

We realize this is out of Uptown now, but Jillana has quite a local following thanks to her Chase Park lessons, so we are running this as a service to her local clientele.

"I hope you have had a wonderful summer! I certainly have! And I've found a wonderful spot to practice yoga with you: Schreiber Park.

We'll meet in the garden as long as the weather holds out. Hopefully after daylight savings time, we'll have a candlelight yoga or 2. Then we'll move into the field house of this nice little park.

Due to popular request, class will take place on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30PM. We'll start this Wednesday, Sept 14 and meet each Wednesday but one, perhaps, until 11/17/11. I hope to be cooperating with another fine Anusara-based yoga teacher in such a way that all 10 sessions may be available instead of 9!

As usual, I'll have those green yoga mats for your base outside and in, and nicer ones for you practice, as well as all props. Please bring a towel and a bottle of water and wear comfortable clothes and prepare to take off your shoes!

Summer Yoga At Chase Park

Summer Yoga with Jillana!  Adult Yoga Classes on Wednesdays from July 14th through August 11.  Classes are for ages 18 and older, and run from 4:30-5:45pm.  The cost is $30.  No need to register, just come to the first class!  Mats will be provided.  Chase Park Fieldhouse is located on Ashland, between Lawrence and Leland.
