Live in A Piece of Uptown (and Music) History

Courtesy of a Crain's Chicago Business article, we learn that the home of music industry legend (and Uptown resident) Jay B. Ross has hit the market.

Listed for $899,000, the Castlewood Terrace home needs some TLC but would be a great home to renovate, given its history and location.

For those not familiar with Mr. Ross, he became famous for his efforts as an entertainment lawyer, particularly in relation to trademarks and the collection of artist royalties.

Ross, who died in 2018, represented an array of big name clients, including numerous blues and R&B legends including James Brown, Bonnie Pointer, Debbie Sledge,  Muddy Waters, Jerry “The Iceman” Butler, Koko Taylor, Gene Chandler, and Willie Dixon. Ross also represented gospel superstar Albertina Walker, numerous house music stars, former Partridge Family star Shirley Jones, and the estates of Ray Charles and Woody Guthrie

If you are looking for another great single family home requiring no renovation, there is another (rarely available) single family home for sale on Castlewood as well. Just a few more dollars...
