We are a decently old group over here at Uptown Update HQ, so we remember the days before Facebook well (one of us was a prodigious poster in the modem-accessed BBS days).
If news breaks, or if we think residents might benefit from something Uptown-related, we will continue to post here (and you can use the comments here just like on Facebook).
Just like at the UU mothership, comments here are being monitored and may be moderated as necessary.
Hopefully things will return to normal soon, but focus your attention here or on Twitter in the interim.
