It's the last chance this year for Instagreeter tours of the area around Lawrence and Broadway, showcasing the area's history as one of Chicago's entertainment hotspots.
"For a century, Uptown has been the city’s top entertainment destination, hosting silent film stars, then a hub of 1920s movie palaces and more recently, legendary music venues.
Explore this rich history with FREE monthly tours! These hour-long tours are led by knowledgeable local docents from Choose Chicago's Neighborhood Greeter program. Visit www.chicagogreeter.com for more info on this program.
Tours meet at Provisions Uptown (4812 North Broadway) and leave at 1pm and 2pm. Tours will take place rain or shine. There is no limit on the number of spots for each tour and there is no need to register. Just show up and enjoy!
This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency."
