Free Guided Sidewalk Tours of Maher Mansions On Hutchinson, September 7th

Take a guided tour down Hutchinson Street and learn about George Maher's masterpieces! Five of his architectural gems are located on this small street in Buena Park.

Buena Park Neighbors is sponsoring free guided sidewalks tours on Saturday, September 7th. These half-hour tours will leave from the northeast corner of Hutchinson and Hazel. Tours begin at 1pm, and a new one starts every half hour. The last tour will leave at 3:30pm.

George Maher was considered as significant as Frank Lloyd Wright in his day, embracing the Prairie School style of architecture before Wright did. He designed more than 270 buildings, including the mansion where the Richard Driehaus Museum is headquartered (40 East Erie Street), and the now-gone Patten Gymnasium at Northwestern University.

We are lucky to have so many homes he designed in Uptown, and in such good condition. Come see and learn about them!
