Green Roof, Comin' Up!

Pallets of low growing plants waiting to be lifted to the roof of 4555 N. Sheridan
The progress made at 4555 N. Sheridan is amazing. The parking lot on the south side of the building is nearly complete, sidewalks have been poured and now the green roof is getting its first plants. Residents are already moving in and calling Uptown's newest mid-rise HOME.

A large crane was on site today lifting the many pallets of low growing plants used to create a "green roof" which help manage storm water. The water that does eventually leave the roof after being filtered through the plants there will be cleaner and cooled. Green roofs also help keep down heating and cooling costs. Good all around.
