City And County Government Offices Closed On Monday

Monday is Pulaski Day, the most Chicago of holidays.

It's observed in the City of Chicago and the County of Cook, so expect closings of local government services on the day set aside to honor the Polish-born hero of the American Revolutionary War.

Most city and county offices will be closed, from City Hall to aldermanic offices to Cook County Treasurer.

City sanitation workers will not make pickups of garbage from residences.

Chicago Public Schools will be open, but some suburban schools will be closed.

All Chicago Public Libraries will be closed.

County courts will be closed except for Bond Court and Juvenile Court, but federal courts will be open.

Mail will be delivered.

Most banks will be open, and state and federal offices will be open.

Metra and CTA will keep regular weekday schedules.

If you're planning any interactions with local government, call first!
