Santa Rides The Holiday Train Through Uptown Beginning Today (Updated)

It's the most wonderful time of the year! We love the CTA Holiday Train, and with the Purple Line and Red Line now both stopping at Wilson, Uptown gets a double dose of holiday cheer.

Here's the schedule for the Uptown trips:

• Tuesday, December 11 -- one round trip on the Red Line
  Southbound: Argyle 2:57, Lawrence 2:59, Wilson 3:00, Sheridan 3:02
  Northbound: Sheridan 5:13, Wilson 5:15, Lawrence 5:16, Argyle 5:18
• Wednesday, December 12 -- one round trip on the Purple Line Express *
  Southbound: Leaves Howard 4:07pm  and arrives Wilson at 4:12pm
  Northbound: Leaves Belmont at 5:10pm and arrives Wilson at 5:17pm
• Thursday, December 13 -- one round trip on the Red Line
  Southbound: Argyle 3:27, Lawrence 3:29, Wilson 3:30, Sheridan 3:33
  Northbound: Sheridan 5:39, Wilson 5:42, Lawrence 5:43, Argyle 5:45
• Friday, December 14 -- one round trip on the Purple Line Express *
  Southbound: Leaves Howard 4:35pm  and arrives Wilson at 4:41pm
  Northbound: Leaves Belmont at 5:38pm and arrives Wilson at 5:44pm
• Saturday, December 15 -- Red Line, and Purple Line between Howard and Linden:
  Red Line Southbound: Argyle 12:29, Lawrence 12:31, Wilson 12:32, Sheridan 12:34
  Red Line Northbound: Sheridan 3:53, Wilson 3:56, Lawrence 3:57, Argyle 3:59
  Purple Line Howard to Linden: Leaves Howard at 4:15pm
  Purple Line Linden to Howard: Leaves Linden at 6:31pm
  Santa will pose for pictures at Howard (Red Line) 11:15am to noon; at 95th/Dan Ryan (Red Line) 1:45pm-2:30pm; and Linden (Purple Line) 4:45pm–5:45pm
• Sunday, December 16 - Wednesday, December 19 -- not in public service.
• Thursday, December 20 -- one round trip on the Purple Line Express *
  Southbound: Leaves Howard 4:07pm  and arrives Wilson at 4:12pm
  Northbound: Leaves Belmont at 5:10pm and arrives Wilson at 5:17pm

* Pro Tip: If you want to ride the Holiday Train but avoid the crowds, take the Purple Line regular express train to Howard, and you can pick up the Holiday Train shuttle northbound to Linden and back. There are fewer passengers and you can enjoy the ride in a relatively uncrowded car, especially if you get on the train far from Santa's sleigh car.

• On December 12th and 20th, the northbound shuttle leaves Howard at 3:15pm and arrives at Linden at 3:28.
• On December 14th, the northbound shuttle leaves Howard at 3:45pm and arrives at Linden at 3:58.
