Free Walking Tours Of Uptown Entertainment District This Saturday

Once a month, Uptown United, Choose Chicago, and Provisions Uptown team up with the Instagreeter program to provide free hour-long tours of Uptown's Entertainment District, focusing on the buildings and history that abounds in the area of Broadway and Lawrence.

This Saturday, August 18th, three tours will be offered, at 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm.

"For a century, Uptown has been the city’s top entertainment destination, hosting silent film stars, then a hub of 1920s' movie palaces and more recently, legendary music venues. Explore this rich history with FREE monthly tours! These hour-long tours are led by knowledgeable local docents from Choose Chicago's Neighborhood Greeter program. Visit www.chicagogreeter.com for more info on this program.

Tours meet at Provisions Uptown, 4812 North Broadway [UU Note: right next to the historic - and soon-to-be-restored! - Uptown Theater]. Tours will take place rain or shine. There is no limit on the number of spots for each tour and there is no need to register. Just show up and enjoy!

Can't make it this time? Save the date! These tours will also be offered on September 15."
