Bella'Mbriana Rebrands; Munno Opens As Pizzeria Bistro This Weekend

Many of our readers lamented the closure of Bella'Mbriana last August. The owners left some wiggle room in their closing sign, saying "We're working on a new experience...."

Now that experience is about to open. Munno, at 4656 North Clark, is having its soft opening this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Nicholas Russo and Bob Monti say, "We're opening Munno as a full-service restaurant!

Our shared passion for simple, rustic Italian food has inspired us to re-imagine Munno as a pizzeria and bistro, offering authentic dishes and our own take on Italian traditions -- modern and old-school, northern and southern.

We'll have a special emphasis on thin-crust Neapolitan-style pizza and hand-crafted pasta, as well as a selection of wines from across Italy that are irresistible, drinkable and affordable.

And while the concept may be new, some things won't change: Munno will continue to be a home for musical and artistic events and performances, curated by Natalja Aicardi. We hope you'll enjoy Munno's continuing celebration of spirited hospitality and conviviality.

We've loved cooking for you in the past and are excited to invite you to walk through our doors again. Stay tuned for more information!"

Munno's soft opening as a pizzeria and bistro will take place
  • Friday 6pm-10pm
  • Saturday 6pm-10pm
  • Sunday 6pm-9pm

They will be serving salumi platters, pizzas, pastas, meat specials, desserts, cocktails and more.
