Work To Begin This Spring To Prepare For Lawrence-to-Bryn Mawr Red Line Upgrades

In last Friday's newsletter, Ald. Osterman said:

"The CTA held a meeting this week to introduce the Red/Purple Modernization (RPM) project [specifically the Lawrence to Bryn Mawr Modernization Project] to the community. Click above to see the presentation about the scope of the effort, the impact on CTA stations and timeline for construction.

Our office is working very closely with the CTA to keep the community well informed about the project as it moves along.  Actual construction is anticipated to begin in late 2020."

The PDF linked above shows the timeline and where utility work will happen prior to construction. According to it,

• there will be another meeting on May 23rd
• the alley work and moving of underground utilities will begin on the 4700 block between Winthrop and Broadway this spring
• work will move north from there.
