Restored terra cotta tiles waiting to be attached to their new home (hat tip to reader J.M.) |
Restored tiles from the former H.W. Rubloff Building,
better known as the Majestic Building, have been delivered to the interior of the reconstructed shell at Broadway and Leland under the tracks. They will be attached to the exterior of the building that will likely serve as storage for the CTA. Display cases will be constructed in place of storefront windows, announcing Uptown related events, art, and possibly historical items of interest. We can't wait to see the end result!
I can't wait to buy a suit for $20 again!
