$6.1M Clarendon Park Fieldhouse Renovation To Commence

Thanks to a $4.6 million contribution from the Clarendon/Montrose Tax Incremental Financing (TIF) District, the Clarendon Park Community Center will undergo an extensive renovation that will start later this year and is expected to be complete before next summer. Due to this influx of capital to Clarendon Park, the Chicago Park District has decided to contribute an additional $1.5 million, bringing the total to $6.1 million. These long overdue repairs will bring the community center back in compliance with city building codes.

The Chicago Park District, the Clarendon Park Advisory Council, and I invite you to a community open house on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clarendon Park Community Center, 4501 N. Clarendon. At the meeting, you can learn about plans for the project and provide feedback. To ensure that we address the needs of people who rely on wheel chairs, I have also invited residents from the Eden Supportive Living to provide input.

We owe a huge thank you to the 46th Ward Zoning & Development Committee for voting in favor of the Clarendon/Montrose TIF because it allowed funding for this rehab to be possible. This is a great win for the community!

Best,
Alderman Cappleman
