RibFest Comes To Uptown This Weekend

The Windy City RibFest takes place in Uptown for the eighth consecutive year, starting today! Drop by Broadway between Leland and Lawrence for all the fun. In addition to the music, the food, and the vendors, RibFest also features arts, crafts and a daytime kids’ activity area - plus strolling performances by Uptown favorites CircEsteem, Uptown Underground, and the Chinese Mutual Aid Association's Lion Dancers.

Suggested admission is $5, which goes to support Business Partners, The Chamber for Uptown and its programs. There is no additional fee for the concerts. Parking is on the street (if you can find it) or $10 in the lot at Lawrence and Winthrop.

The hours are:
  • Friday, June 30th, noon to 10pm
  • Saturday, July 1st, noon to 10pm
  • Sunday, July 2nd, noon to 9pm
The ribbers competing are BBQ King Smokehouse, Chicago BBQ Company, Porky Chicks BBQ, Rancho Mateo, Robinson’s Ribs, and Austin’s Texas Lightning BBQ.

The music on the main stage features Berlin, Too White Crew, and JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound. A full listing and schedule can be found here.

There will be parking restrictions! Here's the notice we got from the Chamber on Thursday:
