"Last night, a 12-year-old girl was tragically murdered in a domestic related incident on the 4600 block of N. Beacon. Our community is horrified by the devastating loss of this wonderful girl.
Today I spoke with 19th District Police Commander Marc Buslik and offered a special thanks to the police who acted quickly and were able to obtain an arrest of the perpetrator. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office will be handling this case moving forward.
I will be personally joining court advocates at court for this case to support the mother of the young girl. If you are interested in becoming a court advocate, please contact the 19th Police District at 312-744-0064.
I have spoken to local clergy who are planning a vigil in the next week. My office will keep you updated. In the meantime, we send our deepest condolences and prayers to the family and loved ones of this young girl as they grieve during this awful time.
If you or anyone you know needs help with addressing domestic violence, click here or call the Chicago Police Department."
