Magic Show Tonight At The Bezazian... And More Events Coming

Celebrating its 60th Anniversary, the Bezazian Branch Library has programming that goes far beyond books and DVDs. This is what to expect in the next few days, starting tonight with a free magic show:
  • Wednesday, May 17, 5pm
Timeless Magic with Sean Masterson (an all ages magic show)
Join us for an all-ages magic show with Sean Masterson! Masterson blends whimsy, humor and illusion to create an entertaining performance that is fun for all.
  • Saturday, May 20th, 1:30pm
    Chicago Market Community Meeting
Learn about Chicago Market's mission and its efforts to be the master lessee at the restored Gerber Building at the Wilson Red Line. "Chicago Market is a community-owned grocery store that exists to rebuild the connection between food producers and consumers. Powered by its individual Owners, each of whom own a stake in the store, the co-op will feature local, sustainable foods from producers right here in the Midwest." You can read more about it here. (This is not Bezazian programming, but it will be held in the community room.)
  • Wednesday, May 24, 6:30pm
Author/WBEZ Reporter Natalie Moore Joins Book Club Discussion
Chicago native and WBEZ reporter Natalie Moore shines a light on contemporary segregation in The South Side. Her reported essays showcase the lives of these communities through personal and touching stories of her family and the people who reside there. The South Side is a rally call for change as it thoughtfully highlights the ongoing policies that keep this very system intact. Books will be available for purchase courtesy of community partner Women and Children First Bookstore, and the author will autograph books at the conclusion of the program.
  • And don’t forget, Stephanie’s Sewing Circle every first and third Wednesday.
The Bezazian is located at 1126 West Ainslie, at Argyle. Parking is available in the rear lot and on the street.
