According to
Eater Chicago, there will be a food hall with 19-20 vendors in the
currently-under-construction mega-building on the 3800 block of Broadway, just a couple blocks south of Uptown. We won't get too excited (yet) about something that's more than a year away, but we are happy to see in the renderings that the
terra cotta eagles will be back on the new building.
Read more about it here.
I just hope that if this "Food Hall" comes to be, someone opens a place serving a good, plump bratwurst, with available options including sauerkraut and German mustard. And German bier (no, that's not a misspelling). Much as I love the place (although horrified there are now stools in the bar), tired of having to go all the way downtown to the Berghoff for a brat.
ReplyDeleteThere's always Gene's Rooftop (in the summer!)
DeleteOh, great. Strawdog and Mary Arrchie theaters will be replaced by a Chipotle and a Subway.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping and thinking it'll be more like Eatly than a mall food court.
DeleteThat's too many vendors in one place. Will the neighborhood be able to support it or will it depend on outside customers?
