The residential portions of the former troubled building at 4635-4641 North Broadway have been under renovation since last winter, but now it looks like the street-level retail portions are about to get their turn at a build-out.
Why "troubled"? A notorious slumlord who drove it into foreclosure, a gang headquarters, and an armed fugitive who barricaded himself inside while the SWAT team closed down Broadway and the Red Line. We wish a much more peaceful future for the building.
