Mixing It Up: Baker & Nosh To Move To Former Starbucks Storefront In The Fall

The Fabulous Baker Boys -- Terry Groff and Bill Milholland -- have announced that Baker & Nosh's Uptown location will shift a block east, to a larger space closer to the Wilson L. The bakery will move from 1303 West Wilson (at Malden) to the former Starbucks storefront at Wilson & Magnolia, which has been empty since March. The move will take place in the fall.

This is part of Baker & Nosh's overall expansion, which also includes a new Edgewater location that is currently being designed and constructed. Both the Edgewater and Uptown locations of B&N will be in buildings owned by Cedar Street developers.

We are assured that B&N will continue the traditions that it started at the original location, including Dog Days of Autumn and the community Christmas Tree Lighting.

In a statement, Terry Groff says, "This [new] location offers more space with just over 2,000 square feet and room for 50 seats. The extra space will allow for a more efficient layout, making it much easier for folks in a rush to stop by the bakery for coffee and a pastry to-go."

Everyone who enjoyed drinking coffee on the patio at Starbucks will be able to do it again now that Baker & Nosh is moving into the space. In addition to the patio, there will be updated decor and a La Colombe Draft Latte station.

What will happen to the current storefront on Wilson when the move is complete? We don't have any definite information, but we are hearing rumors that businesses are already interested in leasing it. We'll let you know as soon as we know.
